THERE'S A LOT TO BE SAID FOR PRIVACY AND THE ENJOYMENT OF YOUR OWN SPACE












there's a lot to be said for (something) (also there's much to be said for...; there's something to be said for...) there are many positive attributes, advantages, etc., to (something).
Honestly, there's a lot to be said for living with your parents after college, but, at a certain point, it becomes time to move out.
There's much to be said for this candidate's education, but I'm not sure he has the experience we're looking for.
There is something to be said for small weddings.

There's a lot to be said for traveling abroad to learn a language.

IT PAID OFF

to pay off phrasal verb if something that you do pays off, it brings you some benefit; if an action pays off, it is successful or profitable after a period of time.
Sandra was determined to become a doctor and her persistence paid off.
      All those weeks of studying will pay off when you take the exam.
